Anyway it leads me to tell you that all the pretty young things( and even the not so pretty) in Toulouse are wearing short shorts this summer, and the shops are full of them. At the end of the day shopping I forgot I was nearing 70 and bought a couple of pairs. [ you do forget, as in your head you are still 25 and slim] Anyway the shorts fit but are decidedly too short for a short, not slim, mature lady. I am hoping my daughter might like them, but she may say she is too old for such short shorts. Oh! folly.
Val says again - Oh! folly twice, as I have looked up who sang the song and it was from 1956/7 by a rock band from New Jersey with Bobby Dalton on guitar. They only recorded two albums before splitting up. Half of TAG readers might not have even been born then.
C says Freddie and the Dreamers in the 60s had a minor hit with short shorts. He would dash about the stage manically, pulling down the band's trousers to reveal their multi coloured long shorts.
