THE WANDERER RETURNS (or in French CHIEN TROUVÉ)!!
A big thank-you to you and all your readers who kept a look-out for our dear Wilkie. 10 days after he disappeared from Bor et Bor, he checked in to Tracy and Jack's near Monteils, who called us this morning having found our no. on his tag. Remarkably, he was heading in the right direction for home - it's about 15km by road, but he must have zig-zagged his way up and downhill, through long grassy meadows and forest, not to mention across a railway and the Aveyron, in searing heat at times and at least one cracking thunderstorm. He's looking a bit skinny and stiff and his pads are very smooth, but the vets in Parisot have checked him over and say he's in remarkably good shape. We feel very lucky to have found him and I hope others will draw hope from this happy ending to a shaggy dog story!
Best wishes,
Charlotta
Val says what great news and what an adventure Wilkie must have had. I hope the photo has worked as he looks so pleased to be home. They do lead us a dance sometimes these pets.
