In the Department Tarn & Garonne 400 people help with the "food gathering" efforts of the Restos du Coeur. They work hard to give more than 400,000 meals to needy and hungry people.
In supermarkets in Montauban this coming Friday and Saturday you will see at the entrance people with trolleys. After you have done your shopping, you pop a product or two in. We often put in pasta and soup when we see them. Costs very little but helps a lot.
It took us a couple of years before we understood what it was all about and I remember being asked to put in something and shaking my head being totally confused. If you did not know you now have a head start and will not look like the "arrogant, ignorant Brit" that I must have looked.
