Neatly restored with closed shutters

What an interesting exercise delivering the post of the Maire's invite around Varen and environs. Malc took pity on me and came as the driver so I could keep popping in and out to look at the names on postboxes. I can now understand when our post lady despairs of faded washed out names on the boxes, even if there is a name at all.
It was all made  a bit easier by spotting shutters closed on a neatly kept house. Of the letters we delivered we were told by neighbours that the English or Dutch were only here in the summer. I reckon more than two thirds of our list was delivered to second homers who will not be here in May. What a shame that is, the best month of the year to be here in my opinion.
