Not a problem we have to deal with here, but when Remi Gaillard locked himself in a cage to try to raise money to improve the conditions of dogs in the SPA compound in Montpellier he did not foresee the arguments the success of his action would lead to.

Aiming to raise enough to create open spaces for the animals instead of keeping them in small cages, Gaillard actually raised over 200000 euros, but has failed to reach any agreement with the SPA on how to spend the money. The association wants to spend money to upgrade the cages and create special areas for vulnerable dogs (puppies, old dogs, animals with illnesses) but is worried that open spaces are too difficult to monitor and only suit socialised animals.
Negotiations continue, but Gaillard is convinced that he is dealing with the "Society for the Protection of Management", despite latest proposals including an open space and agility course.
