Pesticides banned

A new law forbidding the use of certain pesticides came into force this week. Local authorities may not use such products in public spaces and in parks they will prefer plants and species which require less maintenance.
The use of weedkillers and pesticides by private individuals and farmers is subject to different restrictions and 10 anti-OGM (genetically modified species) were interviewed by police after spraying paint onto stocks of various products in garden centres in protest.
