Was it Eldo and was it our refugees?

When I went out yesterday morning to walk the dogs, I thought I saw a dead animal over the road. Later I was told by the neighbours whose 3 hens, who had never got to the point of lay,  had one by one been killed. They came to ask if the killer was Eldo.
Now Eldo never goes out on his own and when we go out Bonny is on the lead up here. We walk them by the rivers off the lead. Eldo does stay next to us, but often he goes round to the neighbours with Kenza their outside dog that we walk.
I later thought did I notice the dead bird before or after our morning run and is Eldo in need of hen education? We had a couple of free range hens for years but they were before Eldo. I now need to find some hens to train him not to touch... just in case.
The trouble with hens being left not closed in over night is there are too many foxes about and fouine/ wild cats about these parts, but I need to be sure it is not Eldo.
Then I got a phone call from another neighbour to ask if I would go and check out refugees camping on her field. She discovered them yesterday morning and thought they were from Dunkirk or even two of our boys leaving Rehoboth.
I assured her our boys were not daft enough to leave the warmth of Rehoboth to go camping in the rain.. they had enough of that at Calais.
Anyway I shot off down to talk to them to discover they were a couple of local lads from Citrus out on a survival exercise.
Funny day really.
