Toulouse v Bordeaux

This weekend sees "derby" matches between both rugby and football clubs of the two cities linked by the Garonne. As both Toulousain teams are struggling behind their Bordelaise rivals (indeed TFC are very likely to be relegated) France 3 local TV decided to redress the balance by scoring the two cities in other categories.

Bordeaux came out top for wine, beauty of the centre, prominence of its maire (Alain Juppé)
Toulouse top for gastronomy, economy (Airbus), population (twice the size of Bordeaux), history (Toulouse proud of its open welcoming past - Bordeaux wealth based on wine and slavery), and modesty (the Girondins are fearful boasters apparently). So la Ville Rose wins 5-3. Nonetheless, expect victories for Bordeaux at football and Toulouse at rugby.
