Take your marks and they are off

 The junior regatta was won by Annabel Jonkers with her father. This little champ takes her sport seriously already holding the Oxfordshire Junior Athletics title in her age group. Another win, this time on the water. There was quite a lot of coaching beforehand, when Annie was heard passing on tips to her Dad, and of course they had already been out practising a couple of days earlier.
The winners of the closely fought adult race were Selene Smith who had flown in from Los Angeles to be with family at Verfeil, and Christiaan Jonkers. Christiaan from Henley on Thames (son in law)is known more for his drinking of Pimms at Regattas than entering regatta races. He was a bit distressed to hear the bets were all on Kevin Scragg winning and even Malc and I were leaning towards Kevin.
A  very close finish made it an exciting day.
