You can't put your muck in our dustbin, our dustbin's full

Silly how you can get upset about unneighbourly acts. We had a lovely morning out at Najac and then came back to see we had received a less than friendly email from newly installed English speaking neighbours requesting we did not use the nearest bins to our house. They were two steps in to a different commune and would we not use them again.
"We certainly hope that today will be the last time you will use our bins."
The tone was not neighbourly, so I left it a day before writing to apologise. Malc who was sure you could use any bin, else where would people passing through or holidaymakers put rubbish, was not happy with my reply.
Today we went to different bins in Varen to be told jokingly " you cannot use our bins mate" by a friend passing by.
We felt as we have no designated bins for Mas del Sol we should ask where we could put rubbish from the people who know, the French.
On recounting the episode to other neighbours we have had gasps of disbelief and shrieks of laughter. Imagine if you could only use certain bins what would you do, you would end up fly tipping.
Another was incredulous that this could happen,  but understood when we said the email was not from a French person.
The bin wars of 2015 are over. We shall in future use any bin we can and we are entitled to do it.
