Muriel, 51, wins gold

Masters events cater for those athletes who were at the top but have become too old to compete at the top. In 1986 Muriel Hermine won bronze for France in the world synchronised swimming championships. Now aged 51 she has added gold to her titles in the current world swimming championships in Kazan (Russia).

Not only winner in her age group, Muriel also outscored many younger competitors. We have our own senior competitors in the area, who like Muriel inspire the rest of us to keep on trying.
