Pen pals

Morning Val,

Just been catching up on TAG news and read about you still being in touch with your pen pal.  I am still very close friends with my pen pal Noelle who lives in Civray in the Vienne and visit regularly.  We started being pen pals back when I was 13.  That means our friendship has lasted 52 (eek !) years.  I also have another very good and close friend, Chantal, who was the sister-in-law of the lady I was au pair to forty years ago.  Chantal lives in Toulon and we talk every month on the ‘phone, we visit her in Toulon and when she and her partner have their two month ‘cure’ in the Pyrenees, we join up with them for a couple of days.

I also had another pen pal, Marie Sabine, in Lille who I lost touch with.  To show what a small world it is, a few years ago a lady brought a dog to us that she had found and couldn’t keep because she was only here on holiday.  She left me her name and address so I could give her news on the dog and I noticed she had the same name as my pen pal in Lille, and she lived in Lille !  Yep, she was part of the family, married to Sabine’s cousin !!  Of course we got in touch again but the renewed contact didn’t last.  Shame, I should try again.

Sooooo sorry I can’t help with Diego, we are up to 20 dogs now and  bursting at the seams – also whilst Ernst is extremely tolerant (most of the time !) he really prefers the cats !!!
