A more reasonable temperature this morning, still warm but more pleasant. today in Varen there is a village repas with band, many other villages having fêtes over the next few days. Part of village life in France these fêtes, some UK residents who have bought village houses enjoy them, others plan a few days away to avoid the noise.
For us out in the country, we partake in some around the area, but over the years after attending many, mass catering now does not really appeal to us. We would go for the music but not the food.
