Do you know when I read the headline in the Depeche, " une agriculteur tué par une vache" I immediately thought of the episode here with cows and the young man who was trying to steer the cows away from the hamlet's gardens up the road.
When I read the story it was an man in his 50's who had been loading cows in a truck in the market, when the cow had charged at him catching him with his corn/ horn. The man died in hospital as vital organs had been pierced. The accident happened at Laissac. Cows if not treated with knowledge and care can be dangerous.
Yesterday the young man who we met after our walk and was trying to move a herd of cows on the loose, looked inexperienced. He had a pole with him but as he was quite frightened himself, brandishing the pole at a herd of very aggravated cows did not look a good idea. We knew getting mixed up with the herd with a car of madly barking dogs was also not a good idea. Cows and dogs are like donkeys and dogs, they do not like each other so never walk through a field of donkeys or cows with your dogs.
The life of an agriculteur can have many dangers with big animals and heavy machinery.
