I dont know risk associated with flip flops when driving but on our first visit to America, we were stopped by the police doing a drugs check. Ross, the driver, was ordered to get out and when the police noticed he was bare foot they threatened to chage him since he was driving bare foot. The charge was to be that by being bare footed, he was a fire risk.
Perhaps a reader can explain that one to us since it always has been a total mystery to us!
