Just a little word of warning to those people who have Gite/B&B's. I've just had a visit from a chap in a "white van", scruffy van and man, dept. 31. He was driving around the area and searching B&B's/Gites and asking if you have fire extinguishers/alarms (we have), he then wants to check them. He had no card, nothing on his van, and quite frankly he looked and smelt like he'd been living in his van for a while. Thankfully after I'd told him we were well stocked and up to date, I called the dogs over, and he left.
Could have been genuine, but being up here and rural and him not looking all that "official", I didn't give him much of my time.
