Toulouse teenagers to be honoured

Nina, age 17 and her 15 year old brother Marius are to be honoured by the prefect of Haute Garonne for their cool heads and quick thinking when a fire took light in the building where they live in Toulouse a couple of weeks ago.

From the balcony of their apartment they raised a ladder to the floor above to allow residents to climb down and then via a climbing rope to the ground below. Two people died in the fire, asphyxiated in the stairwell and pompiers said the toll could have been much higher if not for the swift action of the teenagers.
