Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint- Exupéry
Lorsque j'avais six ans j'ai vu, une fois, une magnifique image, dans un livre sur la Forêt Vierge qui s' appelait "Histoires Vécus" Ca représentait un serpent boa qui avalait une fauve.
Voilà la copie du dessin.
When I was six one time I saw a magnificent image in a book about a virgin forest, which was called "true life stories" The picture showed a boa snake which swallowed a wild cat, just like in the design shown
Val says you will have to imagine the drawings which were drawn by the author.
On disait dans le livre: les serpents boas avalent leur proie tout entière, sans le macher. Ensuite ils ne peuvent plus bouger et ils dorment pendant les six mois de leur digestion.
J'ai alors beaucoup réfléchi sur les adventures de la jungle et, a mon tour, j' ai réussi avec un crayon de couleur, à tracer mon premier dessin. Mon dessin numéro 1. Il etait comme ça:
In the book it says, boa snakes swallow their prey whole without chewing it. Afterwards they can no longer move and they sleep for the six months of their digestion. I then thought a lot about the adventures in the jungle and in my turn I succeeded with a coloured pencil to trace my first drawing. My drawing number one, it was like this.
nb. A boa snake will be a boa constrictor
