Not only Brunhilda but Penhilda

Dear Val

The legend we have always heard is that wicked Brunhilda's sister, Penhilda lived at Penne. Brunhilda entrapped Penhilda's lover and having had her wicked way with him, had him tied to the tail of his horse and whipped the horse off to Penne.

A distraught Penhilda received the broken, battered and bruised body of her dead lover and took off to Bruniquel to avenge his death and that was how Brunhilda met her fate.

Now perhaps it was the otherway round since how else could Brunhilda have sung to the Lorelei on the rock on the Rhine or is that another story. However none of this bears any resemblance to the undoubtidly true history as related in Wikipoedia which does not mention Bruniquel or Penne either!
