British man jailed in Paris

A Paris court jailed a British man for 20 years on Friday for the 2009 murder of his Polish-born girlfriend at Le Bristol hotel near the Champs Elysées. A jury found Ian Griffin, 45, guilty despite his claim that he had no memory of the incident. Griffin, a businessman, said he blacked out soon after fighting with Kinga Wolf, 36, in their hotel room.Wolf died of massive internal bleeding and her skull, jaw and larynx were smashed. More than 100 marks were found on her body.

Val says I have been watching this story reported on BBC news this morning and in all the French journals. I wondered about his defence, he had he says a memory black out. Fortunately the lady had told friends of previous incidents of violence. Twenty years in jail, I wonder how long it really means?
