On the beach at Laguepie, in the sun; but watch where you put your feet.

On the beach, does it remind you of the novel by Nevil Shute or the song sung by Chris Rea? [He was from Middlesbrough]
Either way we call the flat stretch of grass by the River Viaur in Laguepie "the beach"
In the summer it is like the beach with people swimming out to the diving platform and others sunbathing on the shores.
Walking there with the dogs this morning, we were saddened to see the beach covered in "crottes" the polite way of saying "merde"
There is a sack container on one of the trees for the gathering of this said crotte but it never has any bags in.
We always have ours in pocket on walks and are diligent in picking it up the smelly stuff, but others obviously are not.
It needs a dedicated village person to replace the bags on a weekly basis.
By the way we walk the dogs by the river in Varen and Laguepie in the winter but never in the summer.
Dogs careering about around small children playing is not a good idea, even though the dogs love children, so one alters one's walks for the seasons.
