And even more work, for the birds and us.

A friend yesterday told how she had just brushed the porch steps when their regular visiting blackbirds tossed out their old nest all over the newly cleaned steps. The birds then proceeded to build a new one. As the friend said this I had a moment of enlightenment.
As  I left home I had noticed on the table in the grange a pile of moss and leaves, I did not have time to register what it was... but it turns out the redstart pair were doing exactly the same thing... changing and repairing the nest.
