Ukulele too

Ukulele Workshop              suederekmax@netscape.net      Derek Maxted
A few people seemed to enjoy the sound of my ukulele and bangolele, at several musical evenings last summer. I know that some ukuleles appeared in christmas stockings and of course they are very cheap to buy in music shops or on the net. I shall be in Varen for the months of July and September this year. John Carter, my friend and collaborator in the Ukulele Group of Goolwa  (UGG!), which has now about 40 members, is staying close by in the last two weeks in July.
John and I are prepared to run a free one day introductory, informal, workshop in that fortnight (with possibly a very small expenses charge for printing, a DVD of music and 'tubes' and coffee). The format would be a preliminary meeting to check instruments and hand out a little 'homework', then a full day with maybe a 'soiree' at the end of it. The venue would depend on numbers and weather, but probably a private address or John's Gite. I could do a follow up in September.
Perhaps interested people could my email address and we'll follow up the idea.
