Here's an ASPAS* (French association for wild animal protection) petition already signed by 300.000 people, calling for La Chasse to be banned on Sundays.
You and I both think this is a good idea, but I wonder if other Tag readers with similar views would like to sign up...
Just 2% of France's inhabitants are chasseurs, but every weekend they spoil the enjoyment of the countryside for the other 98%. Only in France could the tail wag the dog like this without challenge.
It's good to see that the *Association pour la Protection des Animaux Sauvages is trying to get it moderated. Something more reasonable would surely be a fitting compromise.
ASPAS' initiative could be worth pushing hard - if support for this petition were to quadruple in size, to 1.2m, that would represent ten objectors to every chasseur in France...
