A damp morning with grey skies, there is light on the far distant horizon so perhaps a brighter day on the way.
Friends who are second homers are tidying gardens and houses to leave for the winter back in the UK or some even in Spain. Others have sold and will be moving back after spending many happy years out here. There are friends who have been out here for years who say their intention was never to end up staying here, it was always a longish adventure.
What did we think when we came 14 years ago? I do not think we thought longer than a few years but once here soon realised for us life was unbelievably great and we would not want to give it up. One can have a lovely characterful home with land and space, better weather, fine food and wines. Lots of friends who are like minded giving a great support system. We love it, love it, love it and never want the fun to stop.
