As soon as possible off to the Domaine de Sautou to show my support and hand over some donated items to sell, thanks to Moya from Itzac.
After lunch I am doing a posting around the village, along with Marcia and Jill Spearman, of an invitation to tell Varen UK, Dutch, Belgian, Australian residents about an organised meeting where we can go and meet the Maire and some of our councillors. A meeting organised by the Maire and Marcia Scott who is taking on her role of liaising between the Maire's office and us foreigners living here very seriously.
We now make up 20% of Varen residents.
The meeting is called "La réunion du conseil municipal et les habitants ressortissants des autres pays à Varen" and is scheduled to take place on May 21, 2014, 8 p.m. in the Salle de Mariage at the Mairie in Varen. We all need to be there.
Then at 6.30 off to the theatre at Les Cabannes.Phew! another busy day.
I have to admit I have written TAG posts earlier and will ask the sub editor to update any incoming news today.
Malc has just pointed out a very relevant point that the meeting says it is for " les ressortissants des autres pays d' Europe" which would not include Australians. Calling the meeting "les ressortissants des autres pays" might be better as we have Australians I know off living in the village.
As far as I know we have no Roumanians but they would be invited as would Polish people, who we do have in Varen.
Val says talked to Marcia who agrees it is a meeting for " les ressortissants des autres pays" forget the Europe
