"All the world's a stage.."

We are all familiar with dozens of famous Shakespeare quotes and last night at Le Colombier theatre, Les Cabannes, FET presented a company of actors who made the stage into all the world of the Bard.
The London Shakespeare Group, four talented and experienced Shakespeareans, presented excerpts and speeches from several of the famous plays, including the sources of many of the most well-known quotations.
The group has played in 55 countries (France last night made it 56) and attested to the universal appeal of the words and plays of England's greatest writer. And the reception given in Les Cabannes by FET's loyal members bore this out.
The actors played ensemble pieces with humour and pathos; hard to single out any one from these dedicated theatricals, but a word has to said for the tour de force of Frank Barrie, who made us laugh as he acted using the exaggerated gestures prescribed for classical actors; moved us with performances from Hamlet, as Shylock and Macbeth and a delicious Malvolio from Twelfth Night.
Ending with an excerpt from A Midsummer Night's Dream, these "shadows" did nothing to offend, rather presented  an evening packed with talent and enjoyment and a great advertisement for FET's new season.
