Tarn and Garonne is the third fastest growing department in the new region, according to the census figures published by INSEE (the official national statistics office).
Growth is particularly strong in the area from Montauban to Toulouse, but locally to Tagland Caussade grew by 0.7%, or 89 people to 7042 inhabitants over the three years to 1st January 2016.
Other local villages have growth over the same period as follows (2013 total then 2016): St Antonin 1885/1928; Laguepie 691/702; Varen 665/682; Caylus 1502/1518; Parisot 577/582.
These relatively tiny increases in our villages must be easily absorbed given the number of empty properties about the place but over 100 in the Community of Communes (ComCom as they say) may stretch other resources such as schools and medical services.
Apparently the "official" minimum size of a town is 2000, so St Antonin should get there in about 5 years.
