I hope that you and TAG readers have had a good start to the year! I just wanted to write to let you know that my business has evolved slightly. Since moving here two years ago music has become a huge part of my life and although my initial business Mini Monde was a good idea today I am launching 'Musique et Moi'! I'm doing exactly the same thing, but as many of my students are adults, 'Musique et Moi' allows me to include them as well as all the children I teach. With 'Musique et Moi' I am offering beginner piano and recorder lessons for all ages. I have a baby music class suitable for creches and that can be adapted for schools. Way back in the day music for me was all about singing my favourite songs at the top of my voice in front of the mirror with a hairbrush, safely knowing that no one was listening! I want to recreate that feeling for other people who might otherwise be nervous about starting an instrument. Music should be a joy and it doesn't have to be difficult. You can play simple versions of well know pieces, giving yourself a feeling of achievement that you can reserved just for you (unless you really want to share!) Learning should be fun and I try to create a relaxed unintimidating atmosphere in my lessons.
New for this year I have an adult Recorder Group starting next Thursday if anyone is interested. Sessions will be held every two weeks (with tea, coffee and cake to keep us going!) No previous experience necessary, you don't even need to own a recorder as I have some available to borrow. We'll start right at the beginning and the first class is FREE so people can try the group out first before committing.
