Big plans for Blagnac

At a press conference yesterday the management of the Toulouse airport at Blagnac announced more plans for expansion at the site. Twelve new "low cost" routes will be opened by Easyjet and other European airlines, as well as long haul routes.

Charter flights from China will commence in 2016 and scheduled flights in 2018.
A Chinese-led consortium owns 49% of the airport and aims to make Toulouse the "port of entry" for Chinese tourists to southern Europe. As well as flights a new hotel and extra commercial (ie shopping) capacity added.
