A red wine produced in the Fronton region at Chateau Bouissel has been voted by prestigious American magazine Decanter as the best in the world, alongside a Burgundy red. The 2011 vintage was chosen at the wine expo in June and has not surprisingly now sold out.
The Tarn and Garonne grower has since switched to organic production and the 2012 vintage is just coming to market. The vineyard has been using Syrah, Negrette and Malbec grapes for some years for its red wine and even some Riesling d'Alsace for their white wine.
The 2012 vintage is said to be just as good so if you are passing Chateau Bouissel it may pay to pick up a case.
