A walk by the Aveyron, an interesting moohning

Jobs done, we got three dogs into the car to go for a walk along the river at Laguepie. As we left Mas del Sol we saw a big herd of cows in a neighbours field... not fenced in. They looked very content munching the field so we thought we will find out who they belong to when we come back. After a lovely walk along the river, feeling like a dog creche with the three dogs, we got back to our lane. There we were met by a stocky frightened young man who we did not know yelling " the cows are out, take care, beware, attention a la voiture."
 We stopped to calm him and he said the owner of the cows was  " interned", now who knows where or why? Someone had gone to phone the Mayor, although not sure what he would do as it was lunchtime. Meanwhile the car was surrounded with cows running past all to be together in the herd. They then found a suitably delicious looking field and stopped to graze.
Morning excitement over we arrived at Mas del Sol, dirty, wet and smelly as you do after any walk by the river.
