Le "Royal Baby"

French media seem to have learned a new phrase: "Royal Baby". Amongst all the column inches and broadcast minutes concerning the birth of the new princess (Telematin this morning on the possible choice of name), is general astonishment at the speed with which Kate left the hospital. Just 12 hours after being admitted mother and baby were on their way home. Generally a French mother will be in the maternity ward for 3-5 days after a natural delivery.
English mothers questioned found it quite normal whereas one young French woman working in London said it made you not want to give birth in England. One correspondent cited the lack of NHS beds as a reason for the quick turn round. If they think St Mary's is a typical NHS hospital and the Duchess of Cambridge a typical mother then they will continue to be astonished at Anglo Saxon methods.
