A woman who pulled onto the hard shoulder (bande d'arret d'urgence - BAU) of the A61 south of Toulouse this morning (Friday) was killed when her car was hit by a lorry. This happened in daylight and as yet the police do not know why the car stopped or why the lorry hit it.
Police remind drivers and their passengers that they should get out of the car, wear hi-visibility jackets and go behind the barrier until help arrives.
