Barely a month passed and look at what has happened. Andy Murray has won Wimbledon again, Heather Watson joins him as a winner; wheelchair athletes add to the Wimbledon tally, for the best result in over 70 years.
And Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix. And British cyclists have won 5 of the first 9 stages in the Tour de France, Chris Froome already sporting the leader's yellow jersey. All this without mentioning the haul of medals in the European athletics championships. Pensions may have been badly hit, but by God we can show them we can go it alone! (Except for Iceland)
