Romain Laurendeau is a photographer trained and working in Toulouse and has won the Camille Lepage prize at the prestigious Perpignan Visa competition.
Camille Lepage was a young French photo-journalist killed in Central Africa last year and who also worked in the same area. Romain will use his prize of 8000 euros to travel and work in Algeria where he is especially interested the hidden worlds of young men. His photos of illegal gold miners in southern Algeria were already rewarded with internet prizes in 2012. And he has also won both Kodak and Ilford scholarships. Clearly a talented professional.
