It was Coco and Jo' s day

"Ca tombe bien"  when Jo and Coco both moved to Cambou at the same time, Coco was the luckiest donkey. Jo very knowledgeable on equines, took it upon herself after hearing the story to befriend the boy. Mimi and Kevin did the rotten bits like medicating and Jo did the nice bits like brushing and walking ( a bit like a good cop, bad cop scenario)
When we discovered Maxim at Lez would like another donkey for his castrated  male, Jo offered to walk him the 8 kms. over.
The walk was arranged with Jo, Maxim and  Ray, neighbour in Cambou who offered to come as well. I drove behind with lights flashing on the dangerous stretches of road. A two hour walk with only one spot of trouble when Coco refused to pass a red road sign, sorted by Ray draping himself spread eagled over the sign. Must have been some road safety implications had he been seen by the gendarmes! We discovered that Coco was scared of red when Maxim had brought a lovely new bridle and lead which made Coco run away.
(My donkeys are scared of red and dash off when I wear a red raincoat)
Then we arrived at Lez for the  moment of truth at the field  where Babouch was waiting with his brebis  friend. The two looked fascinated at seeing Coco and although the field was divided with a line it was not electrified and Coco and Babouch decided with in minutes to break it down. Hearts were in our mouths as the donkeys got together ... but instead of fighting what did they do? Well Babouch went coy  and started  mouthing, an act performed before sex and then Coco with tender sexual parts mounted Babouch ( I do recall Jo saying " but it has nowhere to go!)
I being quite blasé about the sexual habits of donkeys assuring everyone not to worry, these activities go on between all the sexes.
We left the three together seemingly full of the joys of spring.
Jo who did not realise how much she was going to miss Coco had a little cry. She arranged with Maxim that she can go and visit whenever she wants to.
A very satisfying day, photos to follow.
