Lots of readers have a camping car (as the French call motor homes - or whatever they are called in English) and enjoy heading off on trips around France and Europe. So no surprise that a couple of families from Toulouse decided to hire a couple and set off on their trip to Italy..and Greece..and Turkey..and Syria!
Only when the hire companies in Toulouse and Montpellier complained to the police that their vehicles had not been returned did it occur to the French authorities that one of the families was "under light surveillance" as a possible threat to security. Too late now; and one wonders if the children of the families are really enjoying their adventure away from their home and friends.
