Yet another beautiful sunrise and promise of a mild day, more May than December. Last night a select group of afficionados came to attend a performance at Mas del Sol Opera House for Verdi's "Otello", based on the Shakespeare play. The film by Franco Zeffirelli starred Placido Domingo and was a stunning production of a fabulous opera. You felt like booing the perfidious Iago and wondered how such an insecure person as Othello could have risen to his rank in the Venetian army. But the scenario and singing were sublime. This was the last of the autumn season and another generous cheque for the Enfants d'Afrique thanks to our faithful followers.
We, like many readers, are off to FET this evening to see Clive Francis in "A Christmas Carol", which promises to be a super Christmas event. These FET shows are always so enjoyable; a credit to all involved.
