Lovely day with the lads

There is a notice board at Rehoboth where you mark down activities planned. Yesterday I said we could take 4 young men to the market and then bring them to our house for lunch.
When I arrived today 5 names were on the board, it took a bit of a  juggle to work out a plan. The plan did fail and one poor lad will be invited another time.
I got the lads to the market, bought a couple of poulet roti and then we went for a coffee to the bar in the Halle.
Last week when I took a similar group for coffee none dare come and sit with me and stood in the market  looking scared, keeping me in sight.
Well what a difference a week makes. We all went,  found a table and I explained the intricacies of buying a French coffee. Normally  tea drinkers the lads decided to have as I do a coffee allongée, this was good they said as they searched around for at least 3 sugar cubes.
It was the most convivial coffee time we have ever had in St. Antonin and the lads decided this part of French life was just great.
Then home to eat the chicken with rice. I had made a trifle, sadly no sherry as none of them drink. Very worried about trifle they were, till they tried it and it was pronounced a success.
I got out the chocolates that were left from the christmas present chocolate raiding fiasco, which produced fits of laughter as I pretended to be annoyed.
Ran them back at 4 and Malc has just left for his evening shift.
Fortunately the lads did the washing up even though I  insisted we had a dish washer.
6pm I am breaking out the red wine.
