It takes team work to help

Hi Val

You asked for other experiences Val from people giving a helping hand to the refugees. I’ve been there twice and going back on Wednesday and am so touched by their stories, by their gratitude, by their smiles, by their contact straight from the heart even when some of them can’t speak English or French and the patience of those who can speak English who constantly translate for the others.  I would be so grateful if any of my family or friends were  helped if caught up in anything as awful as what they have seen and experienced that helping them  seems a natural thing to do.
I am also really moved by what so many volunteers (and  donaters )  are doing for them, English, French, Dutch etc.  It is a good reminder of the good side of humans and   I hope this will help heal the hearts and spirits of these people, who have had to abandon good jobs, friends, family and studies to escape being tortured, killed or obliged to kill in the Taliban army,  so they can all rebuild a life here in France, rebuild trust after what they have had to see and  leave behind the fear. I think it is great Val that you are telling their personal stories and sharing photos, and putting so much into helping them.
Thanks Rachel
Val says   -  it is the most humbling experience.  Malc and I, like you Rachel after all their horrors, and they are  real horrors, want to start them off feeling safe and with a better life ahead.
We are a good team up there Rachel.
