Those of us from Britain are used to shops, especially DIY and garden centres. being open on Sunday and are often fed up that we need to wait until Monday (or even Tuesday) to buy that essential thing. Well it seems that a big majority of the local French agree. 68% of people surveyed said that they were in favour of Sunday opening. Conversely when asked if they were in favour of working regularly on Sunday, only 46% said yes.
The conclusion must be that (like most of us) the French are in favour of Sunday working, as long as someone else does the actual work.
