Malc will not believe it, he was sure it would be easy to find, but I have never seen it.

In French this is creme de tartar and like others I have not seen it in France however as it is also called potassium bitartrate. Consequentially I would try my local chemist. That was where I found glycerine for fondant icing but I've been making that for so long that was where I bought it originally.
