Eritrea is a multi-religious country; Eritrea has two dominant religions, Christianity andIslam, with approximately 50% of the population being Christian and 50% Muslim according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). According to the Pew Research Center, 62.5% are followers of Christianity, mostly followers ofOrthodox Christianity and, to a lesser extent, Roman Catholicism.
