Birds flocking in

Our bird feeders are out, full of bio sunflower seeds and by gosh the birds soon send out the pigeon carriers with the news. Tits of all colours are fighting to be in, greenfinches are scrappy noisy birds, blue tits little better. As I was leaving for the morning walk I wondered what shy bird was hiding in the hedge, turned out to be a thrush/  a grive in French. Now in the UK thrushes were common, but not so here. He had a beautifully marked breast and stayed in the hedge looking at me till I had feasted my eyes and  then walked on.
Later we went to the Aveyron in Varen, Bonny and Eldo found a doggy chum to race around with, whilst Malc took photos of the resident kingfisher / martin pecheur. There is a pair actually and we always see them.
