A busy year for TAG

Readers yesterday 1,104
What a busy year TAG has had.  I wanted to work out a round up of the year, but life is being so busy I wonder if I will ever find the time to do it.
Lots of puppies rehomed recently and yesterday  I phoned to check how Berger was getting on with his new foster parents at Villeneuve sur Lot.  Kathy picked the dog up near Bordeaux where his adopters a year ago could not manage him.  The couple were moving to a flat and the man had lost his sight, meaning Berger has not had many walks but loads of sweety treats for a year. Berger a dog who should weigh around 35 / 40 kilos now weighs 50 !
The foster couple sound marvellous, very sensible and will control Berger's diet and give him walks. He is a lovely friendly dog and we wish the three of them well.
Gitane/ Gypsy I also contacted on Kathy's behalf. Gitane who is now Hettie has fallen on her feet, with Rasta a doggy friend and 3 cats. They live in the Haute Garonne and it is yet another happy dog story.
Next year I must think how the association can raise funds as working on a shoestring causes a lot of stress for Kathy, who ends up using her own pay packet for feeding the dogs, petrol costs etc. If anyone is interested next year in forming a fund raising team please contact me.
Kathy is paid by the Marie to pick up stray dogs in the area and they can then be kept for around 2 weeks in the St. Antonin dog pound before going to the Montauban SPA. At this point Kathy takes them herself and tries to find foster homes or adpotions to save the dogs having to go into a refuge. Now an association has been formed we can organise fund raisers.

All this work alongside looking after my own animals and the work I have been doing gathering clothes and material things for refuges sending to Calais, Greece and Toulouse That has been time consuming for 6 months now.

Writing TAG is a relaxing diversion would you believe and without TAG readers none of these things could happen. So it is to you all I gave my grateful thanks.

ps Our Opera evening Tuesday is Otello with Placido Domingo and I must make some quiche for aperos!! We are not yet fully booked.
