If we believe, we believe.

TAG has lots of readers as you know and a small percentage of readers must be distressed at our involvement in helping refugees. I  cannot apologise as I feel so strongly that life should be about helping, it may be lost, homeless dogs, cats or donkeys and people.
People who are fleeing for their lives is bound to touch me but others worry about the UK being swamped. I can understand these fears but for me and many readers the overriding thoughts are " we must help"
I thought readers might be interested in blogs and sites on facebook who although they do not have editors have " moderators." I noticed that most will not print anything about  refugees. On one site I was privately asked when I posted the Paddington Bear image not to do it again and if it  caused controversy it would be erased. As it happens it has had 7 likes last time I looked, one comment "I am going to put Paddington supporting refugees on my site" and the site owners wife also liked ( I was laughingly messengered to say she would receive a telling off) The reason this site and I am sure others do not want to light the blue touch paper is because of ultra right wing fascists, as the site owner says "I have readers who would carry an AK 47."
Now I am not so bothered about having readers or being on sites that want readers like that. I want to help and do some good in the time I have left and you do not do that by pampering to bigots.
News and views is what we promised all those years ago in our paper copies, and that is what we give. We will print posts not with our views as long as they have no racist element.
Do you like the "I" it should read " we", Malc and I on the subject of refugees are as one.
