An ever changing situation... As things evolve so they change constantly.
We will be taking shoes (heavy duty), gloves, scarves, hats, socks, tarpaulins, waterproofs, sealed & tinned food (no pork products) to Calais on Monday. Also hand tools as requested yesterday. All other donations will be stored safely until Nov 1stwhen we set off further afield where times are tougher, getting worse & will be very cold.
People who would like to give - please do not panic if you should see the mountains of waste & discards at Calais, this has unfortunately arisen out of misunderstanding of what is needed in a refugee camp approaching winter. All donations we collect will be sorted in this area before they go further but to help - please no summer stuff or high heels. Great work going on. Please send any money donations to Val so that we can use them on the ground at our discretion to buy what is most needed. KEEP IT COMING.
