A man at Cagnac les Mines, near Albi, took his young daughter to school, with his hunting rifle slung over his shoulder. Some children asked why and some parents were anxious. The local maire called the gendarmes, saying the man was well known, including to the police, as an habitual offender. The man was arrested for "introducing a weapon" into the school premises and despite his protests that he was just going hunting with a friend was taken into custody. To calm his anger he was locked into a cell - which he then trashed, adding another charge to his appearance before magistrates today. Being already under a suspended sentence, he risks imprisonment.
