Okay, so we have finally spoken to Tom who is at Calais working in the "Jungle".
We have been given a very clear picture of the utter chaos that is there. There is no shelter whatsoever for the refugees, the best they have is tents, lightweight tents, there is a desperate need for shelter with heating or people will not survive the winter. There are many volunteers there giving out food & clothing but a pitifully small amount of volunteers with any skill of hand. The electricity supply is virtually non existent - SO WE NEED -
Nails, builders plastic, batons (probat sell big bundles if anyone wants to spend money, we can manage 3 bundles @ 40 to the bundle)
People are desperate for bicycles, we can manage 4 on the roofrack,
Laptops, English/French dictionaries, any English study books desperately needed.
Able handed volunteers.We are leaving on Monday week the 21st.
